Guilds (random)

"JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP, EVERYONE."

A booming voice sounded in the hall. Tensions had been building up for weeks. If things didn't simmer down, it would become an all out brawl between Aegis and his Elite Guard and the Shadow Seekers. Both factions stared eachother down menacingly, right on the verge of popping. And the most horrifying part of the scene was that it was smack dab in the middle of the guild hall, while the Master was away on business. Most of it had just been a power struggle, with Fang (the leader of the Shadow Seekers) proclaiming himself to be second in command, and guild leader while the Master was gone. It mostly started out as a joke, but quickly became serious when Aegis challenged Fang to a duel, the reason being to, "silence his insolent tongue."

Aegis dominated the fight, and left Fang bruised and embarassed, which started a small war within the guild. And, occuring right now, was the culmination of three weeks of foul insults, violent insults, and bad blood. Either way, it would have to end some time, why not the very day that the Master was due back in town?

"You and your guard are a fucking joke. Your only use is defending weaklings who can't handle their own shit, so they hire your cute little troop of body guards to babysit them." Fang said, flipping one of his signature black daggers in the air nimbly, using only the index and middle fingers of his right hand to toss and catch it. It was rumored that he could hit a fly from thirty feet away using those four-inch long blades.

Aegis simply stared blankly at Fang, which drew a vein to the surface of the latter's forehead. By this time the entire guild had stopped what they were doing and were all watching the excitement. The suspense in the room was utterly paralyzing. Then, very subtley, with the slightest flick of the wrist, Fang launched his dagger at Aegis' face.

Aegis expression contracted into one of pure rage in the time the dagger took to fly through the air. Perhaps only a small fraction of the people in the room noticed what happened as Aegis flexed the entirety of his intensely muscled body, and sent the dagger flying off to the side with a tiny force of pure energy, concentrated to his face, forming an invisible mask. Of course, everyone knew about Aegis' power to form energy fields about his body, and launch them in any direction he saw fit, but with the miniscule proportion he used to send the dagger off course, not many noticed, and most just assumed that Fang had actually missed his mark, including Fang. He stared in bewilderment as Aegis launched an infinitely more powerful energy field at Fang, who barely dodged the attack with a quick sidestep.

And then, it was chaos. Guildmembers scrambled to get out of the way as Guard and Seeker clashed in a battle of titanic proportions. Spirit energy coursed through the room with abandon. Fang and Aegis were at eachother's throats, hundreds of black daggers cast through the air, only to be deflected by energy fields. The battle had just gone underway, when everyone in the room froze. Literally, froze, even those in mid-air. The Master had arrived. And, even though the Guild Hall had been almost completely destroyed, he seemed more calm than usual.

Hearts stopped as the Master strode through the room. He looked around casually at the unmoving carnage, frozen in place by his power. In an instant, the energy was released, and people dropped to the floor with loud thuds and groans. The Master stepped towards Aegis and looked up at him, his small body shadowed by the giant frame of the leader of the Elite Guard.

"Clean it up." Was all that the Master said, in his deep raspy voice, as he tapped his cane on Aegis' chest. The big man nodded once, and the entire guild sprung into action, including those who weren't even involved, in an effort to fix the Guild's condition. And with that, the Master walked into the back, where his office resided, closing his door calmly with a thud.
